One of my fondest memories of Pop was quite a few years ago, while he was still living in his home in Fortune.
When walking in for a visit everything was very quiet - I didn’t hear the TV blaring or him yelling into the phone but I could smell fresh paint. When I walked in a little further I met him in the hallway covered in paint, “Come in Katie my dear, what a state I’m in”. He lead me to the spare bedroom in the back where he had been painting (after being told not to, in fear he would fall off the ladder). The paint can was tipped over and the paint was everywhere. Together we got it cleaned up the best we could while he told me, through chuckles, how he lost his balance and slipped off the ladder and dropped the paint can. By the time I left, I too was covered in paint and laughed most of the way back to Grand Bank thinking of the state he had been in.
Pop always had a way of getting himself into trouble somehow. The stories he’d tell about his close calls and clumsy moments through belly laughs and chuckles made everyone around him share in his laughter. I was happy to be able to share in one of those mishaps that day.
I will think of you often and fondly, Pop.
Love, Kaitlyn

Condolences to Stan and Terry)family:
Last evening I heard off Dad passing. Great Uncle to me and a great support to me on loss of my spouse. Thank my Uncle for his hospitality and visit to his home. When his wife was ill (aunt Susanna) late spouse and myself would visit and have prayer. Uncle would make delicious home made pies and invite us home. after passing of his wife. Remember my uncle has kind and sense of humor. Love to clean the school. Greatly missed. Hugs. May God comfort each one and until we meet on that Golden shore. How my uncle loved his little dog. Pauline Smith(Brushett)
Wishing I could be with you during this time.

To the Smith Family,
I am saddened to read today of the passing of your father and grandfather, Joe.
I have wonderful memories of him while he was the janitor at Fortune Collegiate snd how supportive he was.
He lived a long and good life and now deserves a good rest.
Deepest sympathy on your loss but be thankful for the years you had him and how he enjoyed that time you spend with him.
Joe, rest in peace.
