So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing.
So many great memories, to many to share.
As a young boy getting my hair cut at his place and the ski doo rides in back!!! with him and dad!
Later in life many a meal aboard the Roger when she was tied up in St John’s, always greeted with a beautiful smile and lots of stories !

Condolences to Carol and the Harding family at this difficult time.
Met Jim first aboard the Fisheries vessel Golden Bay in 1976 and spent many days at sea onboard Cape Roger with Jim after that sailing all around Newfoundland, Labrador, the Grand Banks and the Davis Strait. Always enjoyed Jim’s company there. He and I took the lead role(King & Queen) in the “Crossing the Arctic Circle” ceremony onboard Cape Roger baptizing the tadpoles who had not crossed the circle before. Jim loved having a bit of fun like that and we did.

Jim was one of a kind & I am so proud to have him in our lives for so long, he was the best family anyone could ask for ♥️. Will forever cherish each and every memory I had with him. Dear Carol
We are so sorry for the loss of your dear husband Jim. We remember him so fondly. Some of Jake’s fondest memories of his time in Burin were coming there for a haircut, a yarn, often a piece of your famous pies and sometimes a drink.
Our families are so closely tied that it saddens us to see another of or Burin Bay Arm family gone.
I had no idea that Jim sailed with my Uncle Ray in Halifax. It was so wonderful to see such a detailed account of Jim’s working life.
He was indeed a great storyteller, plus a wicked sense of humor.
We hope over the coming months your memories will bring you comfort.
