Please share a memory of Gertrude to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrude Brown announces her passing on Monday November 8, 2021 at her residence in Mortier at the age of 87 years.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her two sons Eric Brown (Agnes) of Burin and Harold Brown (Debbie) of Mortier; grandchildren Derick Brown (Shilo), Collin Brown, Charlene Brown (Edgar), Tanya MacDonald (Shawn), Bradley Cheeke (Renee), and Tyler Brown (Gena); 8 great-grandchildren  and she was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Predeceased by husband Daniel Brown, parents Fred & Ellen Mulroney, sisters Clara Mulroney, Mary Barron and Margaret Ryan, brothers Walter Mulroney, Dan Mulroney, Fred Mulroney and Patrick Mulroney.

Gertrude loved her family but her main passion was her great grandchildren they could do no wrong. Her love of laughter could be clearly seen when you went for a visit. She loved the accordion music and wanted everyone to dance. Even when she couldn’t dance herself she could be seen clapping her hands and tapping her feet to the music. When the car moved she wanted to be in it, she would ask, “Where are we going cruising today? She loved having a good feed and also a good laugh. She was the kindest, most caring compassionate and loving person anyone could ever meet. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by all who knew her, especially her family.

A special thanks to her homecare workers Edwina Hayse and Gena Butler as well as her special nurse Darlene Hodder Lockyer for the compassion and wonderful care they gave her.

Donations in her memory may be made to charity of one’s choice or flowers gratefully accepted.
