Obituary of Cecil Lambe
It is with great sadness the family of Cecil Lambe of Marystown announce his passing at his residence on January 17th, 2025 at the age of 77 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 58 years Gertrude; sons Cecil Jr. (Susan) of Edmonton, Shaun of Marystown, and Derrick (Danielle) of Marystown; daughters Eileen King (Curtis) of Marystown and Linda Lambe (Trevor) of Marystown; grandchildren Matthew, Stephen, Sarah, Shauna, Cody, Carlie, Savannah and TJ; great grandchildren Shanae, Maddox, Dallas, Nicholas, Nathan and Noah; siblings Bernadette Casey, Bridget Ward, Jack Lambe (Barb) and Frank Lambe; sisters and brothers in law Pius Farrell (Geraldine), Anthony (Bridie), Dominic Farrell (Rita) and Nish Farrell plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by parents Mary and Leo Lambe; parents-in-law Pius and Rose Farrell; brothers James and Leo; sisters Theresa, Shirley and Marie; brothers-in-law Michael, Edward, Bob Power, Bob Casey and Joe Ward; sisters-in-law Elizabeth, Agnes and Paulette.
Cecil was giving man known for his kind, loving, caring and humorous personality. Everyone always said he was one of the best. He loved bringing people home to feed and let them have a bed to lie in. He couldn’t say no to anyone, many people will remember him for his generosity. He was a dedicated fireman in Marystown for many years. He worked at Marystown shipyard for 46 years. It was said he was one of the longest workers they ever had. He was well known for his knowledge as a burner in the steel industry- he could fix or build anything.
Cecil loved moose hunting and salmon fishing and the great outdoors. He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each and every one of them and if you knew him, you knew it. He will be missed dearly.
In keeping with Cecil’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Family will be accepting visitors and friends from Serenity Funeral Home, Burin on Monday 7-9PM and Tuesday 2-4PM and 7-9PM.
Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, January 22nd at 1:30PM from Sacred Heart RC Church, Marystown with inurnment following at a later date.
