Wade, Lloyd and Family. Please accept our condolences on Bert's passing. He will be sadly missed but through the memories, never forgotten. He always had a smile on his face and a warm welcome in his heart. Jimmie and I spent a couple of nights with him earlier this summer - we enjoyed our stay, little did we know it would be our last time together.

Lloyd & Selina, Wade & Geri, and the extended Bennett family.....such sad and unexpected news of Bert's sudden illness and passing. As so many have mentioned in their messages, he was one of a kind, a true renaissance man. He definitely had scope and imagionation in his choices over the years. Though our paths only crossed occasionally over the last few years, it was always a pleasure to meet up with him and have a wonderfully entertaining chat. His presence will certainly be missed in the greater Burin area and beyond. Who didn't know Bert. To all of you my condolences on your loss. Thinking of you all at this sad time.

I was so sorry to hear of Burt’s passing. Harvey and him had quite the friendship as well as being cousins. They would talk to each other almost daily and had some great conversations. Burt really did have a big heart and loved to help people with no thought of anything in return. I like to think that they are having some great conversations together again. RIP Burt. You will be missed by so many.

My family and I are deeply saddened to hear of Bert's passing. I first met him when he was in his late teens. He had bought his first taxi, and came to my little sign shop to have a car top sign painted. I was struck even then by his warm, friendly demeanor. Over the years we became good friends as he became a regular customer. Through many lean years, as Judy and I raised our family, we could always count on Bert to purchase another bus and have signage and logos designed and lettered. And there were signs for his many other enterprises. His appreciation for my work as an artist and sign painter made working for Cheeseman's Transportation a joy. Bert was a deeply spiritual man also, and we enjoyed many hours discussing the Bible together, including the wonderful hope of a future resurrection. His kind words of appreciation and commendation brightened many dark days. We will miss this kind, gentle man. Our warmest condolences to Wade, Gerry and all family members.

Well, well ,what can I say about this gentleman that has not already been said. Bert, I've known you for many years and I have the utmost respect for you..Bert not only worked hard to succeed in business, he loved to watch other young entrepreneurs succeed as well. Case in point, when Wade and I started Bren-Kir he was one of our first customers and he was so excited to see us grow. When I purchased Smugglers Cove, there again he became a very regular customer. He was always excited to talk business and most importantly a friend. You will be missed here on this earth but your memories and chats will be here with us for years to come.To the family, I say condolences and I trust you will carry his legacy forward and with the same determination that Bert had. The families loss is immeasurable but time will heal. You will be missed Bert, but never forgotten.RIP

So sorry to learn of Bert’s passing. He was a great guy for sure. Bert was a very kind soul indeed. He helped a lot of people, including me, out in our younger years. I remember driving the bus for him and helping out at the old Schooner Lounge, still some of my best memories. Bert always greeted you with respect and kindness, always had a smile, and always gave words of encouragement. Sincere condolences to Bert’s family. He will be surely missed.

I grew up next to the Bennetts in Port au Bras, and saw first hand as Mr. Reg grew his Take-Out into the biggest most popular Lounge on the Burin Peninsula. I was also witness to Bert starting his Taxi business which grew into his so many other enterprises. Through that growth, Bert remained the same generous person, always having a Christmas gift for me. Bert was one of the first people to buy art work from me years later. Over the years, I had only been able to see Bert again at my own family funerals. Bert was always present with a strong handshake and a hug to go along with his big smile. I am very saddened by his passing. I will certainly miss him.
