Obituary of Ruth Trimm
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ruth Sandra Trimm of Grand Bank announce her peaceful passing on Friday December 20, 2024 at her residence at the age of 74. Following a courageous battle with cancer.
Ruth will be forever lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kimm , her grandson, Tyler Trimm; granddaughter, Sophia Dominie; siblings Mabel (Ronald) Dicks, Valerie (Dave) Diamond, and Wanda (Glenn) Giles; brother, Oral (Janet) Myles; brother-In-law, Bill(Gladys), sisters-in-law Marjorie (Eugene), Jean (Tom) as well as nieces and nephews, and Oden - the beautiful dog that was a good Companion and a great comfort to her in her battle with Cancer.
Predeceased by her husband, Henry, parents: Frank and Alma Miles; parents- in-law; Arthur and Sophia Trimm; Sister-in-law, Martha.
Ruth was born on January 26, 1950, The eldest daughter of Frank and Alma Miles of Pools cove, NL. She moved to Grand Bank in 1966 to complete her grade 11 at John Burke High School. After graduation she was employed by Newfoundland Telephone company. In 1968, Ruth married, the love of her life, Henry Trimm, and they had a daughter, Kimberley. For a number of years she worked at the Staff House (now known as the Harris House museum) and later at Sobey's until she retired. Ruth was a soft-spoken, kind-hearted, woman who loved to stay at home and enjoy a simple life. She enjoyed cooking, baking, tending her flower garden and vegetable garden at their cabin. Ruth was a member of the local Salvation Army corps and served as a soldier for more than 25 years. She had great faith in Jesus her saviour and the giver of eternal life to all who believe in him, and she departed to her heavenly home at approximately 10 A.M. on December 20, 2024.
Family will be receiving friends from Serenity Funeral Home Grand Bank on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.
Funeral service to take place from the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank on Sunday at 2pm. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.
The famiy expresses deep appreciation to Nurse Tammy Stone and Care givers; Carla Cousins, Brenda Thornhill and the late Maureen Harvey for the excellent care provided. Thank you for your service.
Also, a big thank you to major’s Arley and Darlene Masters of the Grand Bank Corps for their spiritual care and compassion.
