My condolences to Gail and Melv’s family. We worked together at trucking a long time. He always made me laugh and was real gentleman. I will miss our morning chats and coffee meetings in the last 2 months. He kept his courage , humility and humour right to the end of his struggle with his sickness. He stayed strong for his family. God bless him. God bless his family. Your friend Frankie

Gail and all of Mel’s family :
Oh my I was so shocked and saddened to hear that Mel passed away.
He and I have been friends over 25 years but due to both of us having a different illness this past two years, we haven’t been in touch much. He was such a great friend, a devoted husband, father and the perfect grandad to his beautiful grandchildren! Oh how he loved his grandchildren and would be so excited to tell me when they were coming home to visit!
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you!
Please know that I am thinking of you all at this difficult time.
Sending love and hugs to you all ❤️
~ Sylvia Marshall~

Melvin was a friend throughout my whole life. Growing up in Epworth has always brought such good and warm memories. I have a memory that goes back till when we were 11. I got very sick.and spent time at both the Janeway Hospital and the Children Rehabilitation Central. One day I received a post card from Melvin. In it he told be that he was going to play hockey with two sticks, one for himself and one for me. Now that was a good and loyal friend. Later in life we spent a few nights playing darts, always with a laugh and a kind word. Melvin you will be missed but not forgotten.

Melvin was a great friend of my husband, Les Hennebury. They did a lot of snow clearing together and shared many laughs. Sincere condolences to all his family.

I grew up in Epworth with Melvin being of the same age we did lots of activities together including getting into trouble with our parents. I remember Melvin singing The Big Rock Candy Mountains Wilf Carter being one of our favourites back in the day.He could do a good job on it too.Quick witted and always good for a laugh of which you had no other choice if you hung out with Melvin. I remember our old cars and dances at the Star Hall in Burin good times we will never see again. The year drifted us apart but we still chatted on internet he talked of his truck driving with passion I could tell he loved what he did.Rest in peace my good friend until we meet again.
