It is with a heavy heart, the family of Melvin Kirby wish to announce his suddenly passing at his residence, Burin Bay on Sunday November 24, 2024 at the age of 71 years.
Melvin leaves behind his cherished wife Madeline of 52 years of Marriage, his dear son Mark (Carla Brushett) of Burin, his best buddy grandson Mason, precious granddaughter Randi-Lee, sister Holly (Ken Ferguson), brother Randy (Diane) Kirby, brother-in-law Cyril, godson Darren Crocker plus a large circle of nephews and nieces and family and friends.
Predeceased by parents Leonard and Lillian, sisters Joan and Yvonne, brother-in-law Jim Hodder.
Melvin, a man who lived with quiet strength, deep love, and an unwavering commitment to those who meant the most to him. Melvin fought a courageous battle with cancer, facing each day with resilience and grace. But beyond his strength in battle, what truly defined Melvin was his love for his family and his ability to find joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Melvin was blessed to share 52 years of marriage with the love of his life, Madeline. Together, they raised their son, Mark, who was his pride and joy, and later found even greater joy in becoming a grandfather to his beloved grandson, Mason. Watching Mason grow was one of the happiest moments of Melvin’s life, a new chapter that filled him with immense pride and love.
Though Melvin was a soft-spoken man, his presence spoke volumes. His gentleness, humility, and kindness made him a friend to many. He was always ready to enjoy the company of his buddies, whether it was over a good game of darts, a competitive match of hockey or soccer in his younger days, or gathering around for a fish fry . Melvin found happiness in the moments shared with friends and family.
Although Melvin is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We will miss him deeply, but we find comfort in knowing that he will forever remain a part of us.
Rest in peace, Melvin. You were loved beyond measure, and you will never be forgotten.
