Obituary of Bill Broomfield
William Arthur Broomfield, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at the age of 68. Born in Port Elizabeth on August 26, 1956, Bill lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He was predeceased by his parents, Verner and Elizabeth Broomfield; in-laws, Albert and Eleanor Kenway.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Christine Broomfield, whose unwavering love and support were the foundation of their beautiful life together. Bill was a proud father to his two children, Andy Broomfield (Andrea) and Amanda Broomfield (Warren), who brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are brother George (Laura) Loughin; sisters, Jean (John) Clarke, Ann (Lorne) Newport. Brothers-in-law; Morley (Nancy) Kenway, Albert (Sherry) Kenway, Ches (Debbie) Kenway, nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of family and friends.
Bill's legacy continues through his three beloved grandchildren, Kennedy Broomfield, Cruz Broomfield, and Andi Rae Belliveau, who were the light of his life and a source of endless happiness.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Joan Marshall for the compassionate care and support provided to Bill. Your dedication and kindness made a significate difference in Bill and Christine’s lives. Also, to the staff of Burin Peninsula Health Care Center thank you for your unwavering support in Bills final days.
A great man who enjoyed the simple things in life like dancing, camping, barbequing and long walks with his wife. A man of great character and kindness, Bill touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
Family will be accepting visitors at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin on Thursday, Nov. 21st from 10AM to 12PM, 2-4PM and 7-9PM.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, Nov. 22nd at 2PM from Grace United Church, Winterland with interment following at United Cemetery, Winterland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Grace United Church Cemetery Fund, a cause close to Bill's heart.
Bill will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
