From the moment Calvin became a husband and a father, he focused all his love and energy on his family, and he put them first, always. He was an incredible role model and shoulder to lean on. He loved with his whole heart and there was certainly no lack of love when it came to his family, especially for Betty, his one true love, and his precious dog, Fido.
Calvin had a great love for the sea, fishing, and made wonderful memories with family and friends experiencing it alongside him. When he began his career, Calvin celebrated his sixteenth birthday at sea; this remarkable career spanned 46 years and he ended it aboard the Cape Ballard. He left a notable mark on his colleagues and friends.
The family would like to send sincere thanks to the 4NB staff at the Health Science Centre for the care that they provided to Calvin during his time in St. Johns.
A special thank you to daughter-in-law, Velma, who advocated for Calvin until the very end.
In keeping with Calvin’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A private family service will be held at Serenity Chapel to be confirmed at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Society
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin.
