Obituary of (Fred) James Fredrick Myles
It is with great sadness that the family of James (Fred) Fredrick Myles of Burin announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on June 13, 2023 at the age of 67.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Esperanza Acosta Moreno; mother of his children, Mary Myles; his children, Stephanie (Brent), Stephen (Simone) and Shilo (Derick); his stepson, Jonander Rodriguez Acosta; grandchildren, Robyn Brown, Emily Brown (Nathan), Brianna Antle, Carlie Evans, Daniel Brown, Reid Myles; great-grandchild, James Ryan; sisters, Mary Whalen, Patricia Mackey(John), Carol Ann Myles(Dean) & Mercedes Farrell; brother Donald Hannam(Delores); and many nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Selena Myles; brother, Gus Hannam; and sisters, Flo Lambe, and Joan Richards, brother-in-law Walter Whalen.
Fred had an adventurous life living and working in almost every province in Canada. He worked on the sea for many years and then went on to be a fine Carpenter.
Fred had many hobbies throughout the years, but he especially enjoyed a game of crib with his buddies. Fred loved to be surrounded by family and friend making Memories to last a lifetime.
After a long and arduous battle with pancreatic cancer, Fred is now able to rest easy. While he will be forever missed, there is relief in seeing his pain and suffering has ended. It has been an extremely hard few weeks for the family with many mixed emotions. His Children would like to thank all of the Family and Friends that stood by their side when things got unbearable. Their continued support was nothing short of amazing. Special Thank you to Fred’s life long friends, Junior Warren and Freddy Brown.
They would also like to thank everyone at the BPHCC for the care and dedication over the last few weeks.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside service to take place on Saturday, June 17th at 11am at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Little Bay.
