I was shocked to learn of Clar's sudden passing while visiting our home town. He and I go way back to our school days in Grand Bank and University days at MUN, where I was proud to be his playmate on the Education Faculty soccer team. Great memories of late night travels home in my old Austin Mini. I will miss our Christmas phone calls.
To his daughters Beth and Ruth; Eli; Maxine, and the rest of his family, I extend sincere condolences. COVID has caught me, or else I would be attending his Memorial service. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Dear Louise, Maxine, Eli, Anne and families,
I'm so sorry to know of the loss of "Johnny". I have no recollection of any conversation he and I might have had when I hung around with Louise as a child but we had several interesting conversations over recent years when we'd both be in Grand Bank in August. I wish I'd known him better. May happy memories and the support of each other, extended family and friends be a comfort during this difficult time.

Since moving to BC I got to know Him a little better. Glad I got to visit him in Kelowna and I enjoyed our telephone conversations. He was always so proud of his daughters and his town of Grand Bank.
