Sending our sincere sympathy to Joann, Beth, Tom, Janice and your families. So many childhood memories of Uncle Burt and Aunt Doreen. They truly were a happy couple and they have left you all with wonderful memories. A couple of times he mistook me for Joann when he would call at lunchtime. We got a chuckle out of that. We are so sorry for your loss. We have a lot of fond memories of when Uncle Burt and Aunt Doreen would come to Halifax to visit mom and dad (Aunt Hazel & Uncle Dick) or when mom and dad would make the trip back to Newfoundland and Uncle Burt would take them out fishing.
I’m so glad that we were able to see you guys and Uncle Burt when we came over a few years ago. I know that he’s reunited with Aunt Doreen and there’s probably a kitchen party going on with the four of them.

I remember your dad as such a caring man , when I think of him , I remember his awesome laugh, that giggle, & how he supported my family when we lost our dad at such a young age , he was like my second dad, he scolded me as much as he did you Beth, when we gave him cause for worry , lol
I loved my visits with him when I was home , his stories & his sharp mind right to the end .. He truly was one of the best ..
I know Aunt Doreen was waiting with open arms & a special reunion with my dad & all his brothers , may you rest easy now Uncle Burt , you have indeed earned it ..
I will miss my visits with you when I am home again .
