Obituary of Robert (Bob) George Sheppard
It is with great sadness the family of Robert George Sheppard of Salt Pond announce his passing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on December 7, 2021 at the age of 73 years. Robert passed peacefully away surrounded by his beloved family and friends.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Julie; daughters Vicki Kelly (Lloyd) of Fort McMurray, AB and Valerie Sheppard (Mother Marjorie) of Lewin’s Cove, NL. Along with Fred Clarke (Kathy) of Fort McMurray, AB, Dora Butler (Wayne) of Fort McMurray, AB, Ashley Clarke (Brad) and Alison Kirby (Ahren) of Lewin’s Cove, NL. Sisters Nina Sheppard (Kathleen) of Burin, NL and Linda Brushett (George) of Lewin's Cove, Nieces Penny Brushett, & Nadia Young (Jason). Grandchildren Mark & Sarah Kelly, Bradley (Stephanie) Clarke, Brandon Clarke, Claire Kirby & Olivia Clarke. Great-Grandchildren Daisy and Harvey Clarke. He will be dearly missed by his precious dog Molly and a large circle of very special close friends and family.
Predeceased by parents George and Freda, sister Connie, Baby Elsie Clarke, other special family members and beloved dog Mindy.
Robert (Bob, Bobby) was known for his love of hunting, fishing, walking, sports, darts and photography. He made many friends that he cherished like family through those shared interests. He spent many days walking the Salt Pond Trail and will be greatly missed by his walking friends and the ducks.
The family would also like to send a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and staff at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center for the outstanding compassion and care he received while in hospital, it will never be forgotten.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the SPCA in Burin or the Respiratory Therapy Department at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 8th at 2-4pm & 7-9pm, Thursday, December 9th at 2-4pm with a family service & cremation to follow.
When entering building you will be required to show proof of vaccination. Please wear mask and sanitize hands on entering and exiting building. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet. Together we can do this.
