It was great sadness that the family of Ruby Hillier of Harbour Mille announce her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on November 4th, 2021 at the age of 75 years.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories her husband Roy of 54 years of Harbour Mille; her pride and joy her only child Kevin (Pauline) of Marystown; her fur grandson Skipper; brother-in-law Lloyd Hillier (Hilda) of Fortune and their children; sister-in-law Elizabeth Trainor of Dartmouth Nova Scotia and her children; home care worker Meta Hillier; special friends Elizabeth Barnes, Marion Scott, Anita Benteau, Eugene and Geraldine Jones and George and Judy Baker plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Abel and Elizabeth Pardy; her siblings and parents-in-law Walter and Mary Hillier.
Ruby was always known for her beautiful smile and kindness. If you went to their home you weren’t leaving without a cup of tea and something to eat. She always had cookies, pies or cakes baked in case someone came to visit. Whatever was going on in the community she was always involved with a helping hand. There wasn’t any good to plan family gatherings together on a Sunday cause she was going to church.
The love she had for her family and friends was beyond measure especially her son Kevin he was always her worry. She proved her love to Roy every day of their life together especially this past winter when he was sick she kept by his side even more. Her and her daughter in law had a special relationship like no other. She always said she wanted a daughter and she was the best gift Kevin could have even gave her.
She lived a good healthy life and had many family and friends who she loved dearly. She is finally at peace now and in the arms of her mom and dad again.
We will love you forever and like you always said to us “love you a punching tub.”
