We were so saddened to hear of Ellie’s passing. She was a good friend and cousin to my mom, Cora. They spent many happy times together. Our deepest condolences. Tina and Seamus Power and Cora Perry.

Mom and “Aunt Ellie” were steadfast friends and wonderful neighbours for many years. Although living just across the road from one another in Burin, they would spend hours chatting on the phone - much to our dismay as we had only one telephone and Mom refused to get off the phone when she was talking to Aunt Ella, despite our begging and pleading to do so. Mom and Aunt Ellie loved gardening and shared many different plants and flowers that they happened to come across - always looking for something different and unusual. They also shared many a laugh together and always enjoyed a “bit of fun”.
Ella made my wedding dress - such a meticulous and amazing seamstress.
RIP Aunt Ellie. You and Mom are now planting a beautiful garden together - and of course catching up on all the news.
Condolences to Nancy and Lewis and your families.

Nancy, Lewis & Families,
So sorry to hear that your sweet Mom passed away. Lots of fond memories of you all. Many years ago when Reg & Ellie would pack up their truck trailer, with you both, and travel to the Maritimes each summer. There was always a stop over at our house in North Sydney, Henry & Marg Hollett, for a night or two. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Cherish all your wonderful memories.
I’m attaching picture of My dad and Ellie, great friends.

Nancy, Lewis and families. Even though she was technically my Aunt, I always called your Mom, Aunt Ellie. Growing up right across the road maybe gave me that honour but I definitely felt she was my Aunt. Her and my Mom, as you all know, loved to putter out in their respective gardens. Each trying to brighten up the corner! I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Ellie and Eve are now planting flowers in the soil where there are no rocks, no weeding necessary just doing to bring joy to all. One of my sisters said, upon hearing of Aunt Ellie passing, the last one on the “road” is gone. May she Rest In Peace.

May prayers and love be with you all during this trying time. She was a woman much loved by all her Burin neighbours and her flower garden brought joy to all who could see. I will plant a tree/flower in my garden for her now.
