On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Maxine Miller passed away at Dr. Beckley Hospital, Grand Bank, of Red Harbour (formerly of Wesleyville) she got her wings and went to walk with the angels She was 94 years old.
Born in Wesleyville, NL, Her dream was to get married and have children. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her two daughters Ina and June and her beloved granddaughter Leslie-Ann. Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that’s all that ever mattered to her. She and her husband Gordon worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. She would proudly boast about all her three girls.
Leaving to mourn with loving and precious memories her daughters Ina Miller of Red Hr and June Pitcher of Red Hr; Precious granddaughter Leslie Ann Pitcher, special daughter of Ina Keisha and grandson Axel; namesake special niece Trudy Maxine Humphries; siblings Joseph Best (Violet), Melina Humphries (Lloyd) & Beaton Best (Muriel); plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by parents Joseph & Eva Best, husband Gordon H. B. Miller, brothers Stewart Best, sisters June Hounsell (Lloyd),two infant sisters, two infant brothers, sister-in-law Neta.
Visitation will take place on Thursday January 21, 2021 from Serenity Funeral Home, Burin from 2-5 p.m. and Friday January 22, 2021 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Funeral service from Serenity Chapel, Burin on Friday, January 22, 2021 1p.m. with interment following at Bethany United Cemetery, Burin Bay Arm.
The maximum number of people permitted in the funeral home at one time is 20 people. All visitors must sign in and sign out for contact tracing purposes, and masks must be worn at all times. Hand sanitizer will be provided and is to be used upon entering and exiting the building. No food or beverages are permitted in the building. Thanking you in advance for respecting the regulations.
