Obituary of George Slaney
Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of George Henry Slaney of Point May, a beloved husband, father, pop, great grand pop, brother and uncle. He passed peacefully away at his home surrounded by his loving family on December 29, 2020, at the age of 73. Leaving to mourn is the love of his life Bernadette, sons Chris, Jim, Eugene (Antonia), Chad (Sarah), and George Jr. (Megan), daughters Gale (Tony) and Angela (Tyrone); grandchildren Danielle, Hilary, Robert, Laura, Jordan, Brittany, Brooke, Eugene Jr., Madison, Lincoln, Matthew, Noelle, Jonah and Jacob; great grandchildren Charlie, Emmy, Val, Dahlia, Fae, Paisley, Jordan Jr., Logan, Xander, Lilly, Hannah, and soon to be born baby Coffey; brothers Hubert (Shirley), Ron (Jenny), sisters Marion, Margaret (Les), Blanche (Loyola), and sister in laws Marie and Melinda; brother-in-law Jim. Predeceased by his parents Will John and Edna, brothers Roy, Bud and Patrick, sisters Susie, Mary and Theresa, brother in law Anthony, and daughter Lisa Marie. George dearly loved his family and was happiest when the house was full. Many late nights were spent sitting at the kitchen table with family and friends listening to him tell stories of days gone by and jokes that made them laugh until they cried. He liked celebrating all of life's adventures with those he loved. He enjoyed history, hunting, fishing and was an avid reader. His strength and courage were that of a bear and he faced every hardship with a wonderful sense of humour. George's witty intelligence and kindness left a mark on the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered and missed until end of days. The family would like to extend a special thank you to community health nurse, Kim West, who took wonderful care of George and responded tirelessly to all his family's questions and concerns. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will get together at a later date to celebrate his life.
