It is with great sadness the family of Gladys M. Dicks of Rushoon announces her passing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on September 13th at the age of 85. Leaving to mourn sons Charlie Jr. (Vera) of Marystown, Larry (Yvonne) of St. John's and Herbert (Elaine) of Rushoon; daughter Joan Pearson (Austin) of Rushoon; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters Ellen Theresa Cheesemen of Placentia, Jessie Hynes of St. John's, Sadie Skibia of New Jersey, Ann Murphy (Frank) of Rushoon, Mary Burkheart of Nova Scotia and Dorothy Steward (George) of Rushoon; brothers Herbert Whiffen (Sheila), Charles Whiffen and Greg Whiffen (Melvina) all of Rushoon plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband Charles; daughter Mary Sarah and parents Herbert and Sarah Whiffen. Resting at Christ the King Church, Rushoon Saturday, September 14th at 8PM and Monday until 12PM. Prayer Vigil will take place Sunday at 6PM . Funeral Mass to take place Christ the King Church, Rushoon Monday, September 16th at 2PM with interment following at RC Cemetery, Rushoon. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association or flowers gratefully accepted.
