Obituary of Dave Masters

Please share a memory of Dave to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dave Masters
October 24, 1950 – June 5, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Masters on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the age of 75 years.

David was predeceased by his daughters, Lisa and June, Parents Norman & Annie Masters and his sister Pauline.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his beloved wife, Susie, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; his loving daughter, Sheri (Rod); his cherished grandchildren, David, Cecil, and Nicolette; his treasured great-grandchildren, Blair, Parker, and Brady; his sisters, Norma and Ruby as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and the many friends who had the privilege of knowing him.

A hardworking and skilled tradesman, Dave worked at the Burin Fish Plant and later at Churchill Falls as a millwright. Known affectionately as "Mr. Fix-It," he had an extraordinary ability to repair almost anything. No matter the challenge, David would always find a way. Whether helping a neighbour, lending a hand to a friend, or tackling a project for his family, he could always be counted upon. His practical wisdom, determination, and willingness to help others earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

Dave loved life and lived it to the fullest. He especially enjoyed spending his summers at the trailer, a place where he felt most at home. There he enjoyed the outdoors, shared stories and laughter with family and friends, and created countless memories that will be treasured for years to come. He was also an avid reader who appreciated the pleasure of settling down with a good book.

Above all, Dave was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took great joy in the lives of those he loved. His kindness, dependability, quiet strength, and sense of humour touched many lives. He will be remembered not only for what he could fix with his hands, but for the care, generosity, and friendship he shared so freely with others.

Though he is gone from our sight, the lessons he taught, the values he lived by, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, perseverance, and love for family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

Forever loved, always remembered, and sadly missed.
