Obituary of Ann Marie Caul

Please share a memory of Ann Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of Ann Marie Caul announce her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the age of 77 years.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children Stephen Caul (Eleanor) of Burin, Patrick Caul (Juanita) of Alberta, Pauline White of Marystown, Philip Caul (Billi-Joe) of Alberta, John Caul (Tammy) of Ontario; special friend Cecil Kavanagh of Burin; grandchildren Katelynn, Logan, Liam, Lucas, Andrew, Carter, Heather, Randy; great-grandchildren James, Andrew, Coby, Nathan, Brianna; brother Leonard Francis and sister Lucy Fleming; best friend Mabel Mayo and a large circle of other family and friends.

Marie was born one of five children to Genevieve and Thomas Francis.

Later in life, she married James Caul, and together they raised five children – four boys and one girl. She devoted most of her life to caring for and raising her family. During those years, she also worked to help support the household and provide for her children.

Above all else, Marie cherished time spent with her grandchildren. A simple visit or even a phone call would brighten her day. She loved hearing from them and treasured every moment shared.

Marie lived a quiet life and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. In her later years, she rarely missed a game of bingo, and many Saturday evenings were spent at the church with the choir. She loved to sing and participate, and through those evenings she formed many lasting friendships.

Her kindness, warmth, and devotion to both her family and community will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Whether it was a simple walk where she would stop to chat with neighbours around Burin, or enjoying the music she loved. Marie found happiness in the people and moments around her.

She leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and quiet strength that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

To her special friend Cecil Kavanagh, you guys created so many special memories together in her last years. May you carry those memories of you both to give you comfort and peace.

Predeceased by parents Thomas and Genevieve Francis, husband James Caul, brothers Michael Francis, Raymond Francis, John Francis, sister Agnes Smith, and son-in-law Wallace White
