Boyd was a man of the land, the sea, and above all, his family. Born in Foote’s Cove in 1938, he grew up with the ocean in his blood, spending his youth fishing and developing a lifelong love for the water.

A skilled mechanic by trade, Boyd dedicated many years of hard work to the Marystown Shipyard, where his reliability and work ethic left a lasting mark until his retirement. His dedication to his country and community was also reflected in his proud, long-standing service as a member of the Canadian Rangers—a chapter of his life he held close to his heart.

In 1959, Boyd married the love of his life, Millicent. Together, they shared decades of love, devotion, and partnership, raising five children. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and his deep care for them was evident in everything he did.

An outdoorsman to his core, Boyd was happiest when he was out on the water in his boat, moose hunting, or simply taking in the beauty of nature. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, proud service, and an enduring love for his family. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
