Obituary of Wavell Maxwell Moulton
Wavell Maxwell Moulton
March 5, 1942- March 21, 2026
Passed away peacefully at his home in Lewin’s Cove, as was his wish. Wavell often said “I was born on this meadow, and I want to die on this meadow,” and his children ensured his wish was fulfilled.
Wavell was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (August 30, 2022). They had celebrated 62 years of marriage that April before her passing. Life was never the same for Wavell after losing Mary, she was the rock of their family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Mabel and his brother Bruce.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories are sons, Randy and Eddie; daughter Michelle (Paul Dober); grandchildren Brittany (Matthew), Matthew (Jenni), Mark (Annie), Emilee (Paul), Laura (Brandon); great grandchildren Rowan, Elliott and Riley; sisters Kay and Veva; daughter in-law Clara; sister in-law Shirley and members of the Moulton and Wiscombe families. He will also be fondly remembered by dear friends, Frances Banfield, and Dennis Russell.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dad’s home care worker Linda Penney for her exceptional care and compassion. We are also grateful to his community health nurse, Jeremy Peddle, as well as the nurses and doctors at the Burin Peninsula Healthcare Emergency Department and Medicine Unit for their kindness and support. A sincere thank you to Dr. William Moulton for his many years of dedicated care as Dad’s family physician.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our cousin Jo-Ann for the love and support she has shown our parents over the years.
Also, a special and sincere thank you to Eugene Brewer of Freshwater Pond Road for always being there to help Dad in anyway he needed! Especially for all the mail runs and all the wood you helped him with! Dad knew he could always depend on you!
A heartfelt thank you to Francie who was with us during Dad’s final hours and at the time of his passing and has given our family love and support over the years, and to our cousin Melvie who was with us through Dad’s illness and also stood by our side at the time of his passing.
A sincere thank you to Majors Ross and Doreen Grandy for visiting Dad and praying with him, which brought comfort to him and our family.”
In keeping with Wavell’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
There will be no viewing or funeral service.
He will be inurned at a private family gathering at Hope United Church Cemetery in Lewin’s Cove at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations in Wavell’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, Creston (Community Meal) or the Hope United Church Cemetery Fund, Lewin’s Cove.
