Obituary of John Mayo
It is with heavy hearts and many wonderful memories that we announce the peaceful passing of John Mayo at his home in Marystown on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the age of 68 years.
John leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his son, Adam Power (Tara Maher) of Marystown, and his stepson, Lyndon Ducey, also of Marystown. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Daniel, Brendan, and Ericka Power, and a cherished great-grandfather to Niko and Hunter. He is also survived by his brother, Dave Mayo of Greenhill, Burin, and his large circle of extended family and friends, including his very close friends Nick Slaney, Winston Nurse, Sandy Cross, and Tom and Joan Wells. John will be deeply missed by his pride and joy, his faithful fur baby, Rusty.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dave and Violet Mayo, and his granddaughter, Kelly Power.
In keeping with John’s specific wishes, cremation has taken place and an inurnment will follow at a later date.
