Obituary of Julie Leigh Moulton (nee Drake)
It is with heavy and crushed hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, Julie Moulton (nee Drake) on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the age of 50 years. Julie passed away at the Burin Peninsula health care centre after a courageous battle with cancer, with her precious son, Riley, husband Marvin, and devoted Mom by her side.
Julie held many roles in her life: wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, but her most cherished role was that of loving mother, Riley. Julie possessed a rare magnetic spark that reminded us all that life isn’t just meant to be lived, but celebrated. For as strong as she was, her heart was incredibly soft for the people and things she loved the most. Her greatest joy was being the foundation of her home, where she dedicated and lovingly cared for her husband of 24 years, Marvin, and her loving son, Riley. Seeing the man he has become has been her greatest joy in life. His kind heart and character are a living testament to her love.
Julie loved her time with fur babies Nova Lee and Buddy, evenings at the trailer, watching movies with her Mom, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Julie was the heart and soul of our family she will be sadly missed and forever remembered, and loved by her husband Marvin, son Riley, mom Bernice, brothers Junior(Tania), Terry, Todd(Paula), Leonard(Lisa); sisters Betty(Mitch), Pauline(Steven), parents-in-laws Heb & Wilma Moulton, sisters-in-law Marsha, Marla(Dennis), dearest friends, Trina, Tammy, and Nicole and many treasured nephews, nieces and other family and friends.
Julie is predeceased by her father Thomas, special nephew Andrew, infant sister Elizabeth Bernice, and grandparents Andrew and Elizabeth Riggs, William and Jane Drake.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-9 pm & Thursday from 1-9 pm.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Serenity Chapel, 95 Main Street, Burin, with interment following at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery Hodder’s Point.
