"With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mom Mary Green (Mullett) on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the age of 89, mom passed away peacefully at the Blue crest interfaith home Grand Bank with her family by her side.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her son Tony (Mary), daughters Brenda (Glen), Sherry (Tom), Heather (Dwayne), and Pam (Wally). She also leaves behind grandchildren Samantha (Damian), Christina (Brad), Matthew (Alicia), Terrie Lee, Ethan (Danica), Daniel (Kyleigh), Brendan (Brianna), & Erica (Jeffrey), great grandchildren Madison, Zackery, Shelby, Arthur, Alec, Ryder John, Hunter & Niko. She is also survived by her sister Doreen Penton as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Beatrice Mullett; husband Cecil; her grandson, Nathan; her granddaughter, Kelly; and her parents-in-law, Peter and Hannah Green. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Victor, Peter, Paul, James, and William; her sisters, Madonna, Rose, and Elizabeth; her sisters-in-law, Mary Mullett, Dorothy Mullett, and Elizabeth Mullett; her brothers-in-law, Bill Halliday, Lou Porter, and Leonard Penton; and her special nephew, Frankie Green.

Mom was born and raised in St. John’s to parents, Victor and Beatrice Mullett when she finished school, she worked as a secretary on the Argentine Navy Base and also as a secretary for lawyer, Nathaniel Noel in St Johns. She eventually met the love of her life Cecil, and after several years they moved to Burin. Together, they raised five children one boy and four girls. Mom has always been the main support pillar of our family while dad worked for years on the Dragger’s to support our family.

Mom single handedly raised all five of us. She was always a great supporter of her children and loved us all endlessly not only was mom the rock for our family. She volunteer for many years with the Anglican Church ACW in Ship Cove she could be found at many church services and functions alongside some of her good friends, such as Greta Rose, Shirley Beck, Kay Pike, and many others.

As a grandmother, she continued to spread the same love and support that she gave her children. She would beam with pride at every accomplishment and achievement; she was an amazing woman who overflowed with determination, strength, and dedication. It was never an option for Mom to give up on anything or anyone. She passed all of her characteristics down to her children and grandchildren. We will forever be missing two very important pieces of us mom and dad,  but we can rest easy knowing that these two pieces are now together again. We will move forward as a family and keep the legacy of love and support going. We are the people we are today because of two incredible parents; until we meet again, you will remain our constant source of love and guidance from above.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Marystown Retirement Centre for the kindness shown to Mary during her stay. We are also deeply grateful to the doctors and nurses at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, as well as the staff at the Blue Crest Interfaith Nursing Home in Grand Bank. Your unwavering compassion and professional care during Mary’s final days provided her with comfort and our family with much-needed peace."
