Obituary of Lina Mary Stacey
It is with profound sadness and great love, that the family announce the passing of Lina Mary (nee Penton) Stacey on Saturday January 17, 2026 at Burin Peninsula Health Centre at the age of 77 years of St Lawrence, NL.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lisa (Darin), Arnold, Sean (Alice), and Mike; her grandchildren, Jordan, Desiree Seamon (Joel), Desmond, and Dawson; and her great-grandchildren, Logan, Maiyah, and Aria. She is also survived by her siblings, Lillian, Joan, Shirl, Jerry, David, Michael, Barb, Brenda, Jacqueline, Lisa, Marlene, Dan, and John and John Stacey, the father of her children, She will be dearly missed by her faithful fur friend, Tazzie, and a large circle of extended family and friends.
Predeceased by parents Michael & Jessie Penton, partner Sean Slaney, special friend Frances Drake, siblings Margaret, Eileen, Faye, Tony & Chris.
A woman of quiet strength and deep love, Lina was defined by her unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Her determination and resilience provided the courage to persevere through health battles, yet her spirit remained focused on life's simple pleasures.
Lina’s greatest joy was found in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother; watching them grow and sharing in their special milestones created her happiest memories. Whether she was playing darts with friends, enjoying a "mug up," or spending time with her animals—especially her faithful fur friend, Tazzie—she lived with a heart full of love.
In keeping with Lina’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday January 22nd, 2026 at 10:30AM from St. Thomas Aquinas RC Church St. Lawrence with inurnment following at Mount Cecilia RC Cemetery St. Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers donations in Lina’s memory may be made to the family.
