Obituary of George William Stewart
"With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of George William Stewart on December 30, 2025.
At 71 years old, George left us peacefully at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre with his family by his side. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and love as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His warmth and kindness will never be forgotten."
George leaves behind his loving wife Dorothy, they would be celebrating 50 years of marriage this March. His precious daughters Kelly and Karen and his pride and joy, his granddaughter Gabrielle, she meant the world to him.
His brother Jerome Stewart (Marie) and nieces Brenda and Gloria, as well as numerous other close relatives and dear friends. His memory will be cherished by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
George is predeceased by his parents William and Selina (Barron) Stewart, brother Kevin Stewart, parents-in-law Herbert and Sarah Whiffen.
George was known for his gentle nature and respectful personality. A source of steady guidance and security for his family. He will be deeply missed by them.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff of doctors, nurses and anyone who was involved in taking care of George while in the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre. Thank you to everyone and Thank you for all your prayers.
In keeping with George’s wishes cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
