Obituary of Glenda Nolan

Please share a memory of Glenda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Nolan, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Glenda passed away peacefully at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the age of 71, with her loving family by her side of Mooring Cove, Glenda will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Glenda leaves behind her beloved husband of 47 years, Bob Nolan; her precious daughter,  Leeanne Augot (Morgan); and her cherished granddaughter, Starla Predham (Justin Drake).

She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Karl Moulton  (Marlys) of Brooks, AB; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Elaine Nolan of Garnish, Leo Nolan (Wendy) of Mooring Cove, Margaret Grandy (Barry) of Garnish, Bride Nolan of Marystown, Joan Caines (Morley) of Garnish, Liz Stacey (Phonse) of Marystown, Paul Nolan of Trenton, ON, and Rodney Nolan (Stephanie) of Marystown, Denisine Nolan of Mooring Cove and her special homecare worker, Effie King.  Glenda also leaves behind a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Thank you to doctors and nurses of the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre and especially to her family at the Dialysis Unit.

Glenda is predeceased by parents Max & Susie Moulton, parents-in-law Jack & Mary Nolan, sister-in-law Jackie Whelan.

Glenda was born in Halifax to Max and Susie Moulton but moved back to Garnish when she was only a small girl. Having only one sibling, Karl was more than just a brother. He was one of her best friends. From a young age to her time of passing, she enjoyed spending time with him and having their daily chats on the phone.

At the age of 21 she met the love of her life, Bob, at the Frenchman’s Cove Park and married 3 short years later. Their 50 years together brought many ups and downs however their love grew more and more every day.  2 years later along came their daughter, Leeanne. Leeanne was the apple of Glenda’s eye. She was so proud of everything she did and was the best mother anyone could ask for. Together the small family enjoyed many things such as camping and family trips.  15 years ago her family grew by two more. Her son-in-law Morgan and granddaughter Starla came into the picture. She loved them so very much and accepted them in her life as her own. She often said that Morgan was her son, not son-in-law and was so happy in all his accomplishments. Starla was her “Girl”. She was so proud of Starla from day one and always boasted about her any chance she had.

Glenda also loved her baking. She could be seen many times in the kitchen baking pies and cookies. She had a fancy of making cakes for many birthdays, baby showers and anniversaries.

In her later years when her health started to decline, she would tell Bob how to make the sweet treats and watch along side of him to make sure he got it right.

She absolutely loved her “stories” in TV and spent many hours watching them with her homecare worker Effie.

Always dedicated to her family, Glenda loved all her nieces and nephews like her own. Many times they would show up at the house unexpectedly but they were always welcomed. She had her hand in raising them along the way and cherished time spent with them.

In Glenda’s memory donations may be made to the family for them to choice a charity of their choice or flowers gratefully accepted.
