Ruby is predeceased by her parents Alex & Gladys Hardy, sister Rayelene and nephew Christopher.
Ruby was a free spirit that did things her way, give her anything to do and she would get it done if it didn’t have anything to do with housework She loved her flowers & sewing – quilts – and more quilts. She could spend hours at either of these two and the day would just fly by. The more mess she was into the happier she was from the barn with her horse, to making hay at Dennis’s or helping with the Turkeys. She was game for it all.
Ruby was a good friend to many and never said a word about anyone that was mean to her. Caroline will remember Ruby for the constant phone calls wanting to know the spelling of a word, no matter how small of a word. Her phone calls morning, noon & night – on her way to work, break time at work and on her way back home, talking until she got to her driveway. Ruby was more than a sister, she was our friend. The chemo took a lot out of her but she had her sense of humor.
Her quilting became a focal point in her life, She leaves behind a legacy of thousands of projects stitched together with care and kindness. Her passion for creation was as strong as her love for horses. A talented seamstress and masterful quilter, Ruby poured her love into every stitch. Her quilts, each a masterpiece of color and design, were not just blankets but tangible expressions of her affection. They will continue to warm the hearts and homes of her loved ones for generations. Ruby found joy in life's simple moments and taught us all to do the same. She had an uncanny ability to brighten any room with her presence and infectious smile. Ruby was all in with a smile.
We know that many memories will be sparked by a special piece of fabric, a thread, or a quilt block she helped choose for someone. For her, a project wasn't just about the finished product; it was about the connections she made along the way and the comfort she provided to others.
