Obituary of Frank Green

Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Frank Green passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Friday August 15,  2025 at St. Clare’s Hospital, St. John’s at the age of 68 years

Frank is lovingly remembered by his children Michael Hollett (Mikaila), Tammy Hodder (Scott), Amanda Burbridge (Kenny); 6 grandchildren Paula (Tyler), Megan (Blake), Alyssa, CJ, Alexander, Ryder; two great grandchildren Elijah & Elizabeth, and two granddaughters arriving soon; parents-in-law Freeman & Emily Collins; special friends Geroy Hollett & Joe Walsh, and his and Linda’s cat Tootsie as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Frank was predeceased by his spouse Linda, grandson Terrence Mallay, parents Frank and Hester, sister Eileen Reeves.

Frank fought a long, courageous battle with cancer. He will always be remembered as a good husband, father, son, brother, father-in-law and friend. He was loyal, compassionate, loving, and true to his values.

Frank was born in 1957. He was raised in Burin Bay Arm. He was a free spirit his entire life. Frank lived and loved loudly.

His favorite number was 2. Even as a little boy, his loving mother would purchase him two chocolate bars just because he would point and say 2. Frank held many employment positions. He was a bartender, sold insurance, operated the QuarterDeck Lounge, FPI, land surveyor, operated gravel trucks, site services, drove taxi and many others we are certain. Frank was up for any tasks.  Frank became a Dad to two daughters; Tammy in 1979 and Amanda in 1989.

He met Linda and Michael in 1996. That’s when our family was perfectly blended & we’ve been a team since.Frank adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was their biggest fan, regardless of successes or trials.

Frank always said he was an Ol’ Hippie; music playing, sipping a Bacardi & Pepsi; either that be simplicity or a night out with friends. Frank enjoyed his annual Christmas poker game/crib game with his buddies. Everyone, was always greeted with a hippie shake.Frank was a fan of Pepsi and Tim Hortons; both beverages were enjoyed daily.

Frank was a kind and generous man. Always a giver, whether that be a take out treat, a coffee or trying to tackle our Christmas lists.Hockey season was always the best! Montreal Canadians biggest fan was Frank. Always a banter to be had amongst family & friends of opposing teams.

Frank & Linda welcomed their beloved cat Tootsie in 2015.  Although we wish we had more time, we are so lucky to have the memories we hold dear.

Frank enjoyed a quiet lifestyle since the passing of Linda Boo. Frank never wanted a fuss.Frank had many special friendships and he appreciated everyone that was “rooting for him” or showing Grace. He loved us immensely as we did him.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the medical teams on Dads health journey and to the medical staff at St. Clare’s for keeping him comfortable in his final days, especially to his nurses Jordan and Tanisha, “Salt of the Earth” as Frank would say.
