Obituary of John Joseph Norman
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of John Joseph Norman on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Blue Crest Interfaith Home in Grand Bank, at the age of 79.
Left to mourn with fond and lasting memories is his sister, Margaret Dicks, who will forever remember his kindness, humour, and unwavering love for his family. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
John was predeceased by his parents George and Alice (Moores) Norman, and siblings Charles, Angus, George, Patrick, Annie Whiffen, Rita Whiffen, and Alice Brinston.
John was a quiet, private man who kept much close to his heart. But to those lucky enough to truly know him. John loved being outdoors and could often be found fishing or hunting. He grew up surrounded by the deep love of family—a bond he treasured all his life. John was a devoted brother, a cherished uncle, and a loyal friend to many. His fun-loving spirit and generous heart will live on in all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin, on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Serenity Chapel in Burin, with interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Rushoon.
