
Obituary of Wayne Savoury
It is with profound sadness that the family of Wayne Savoury announce his passing on Monday June 9 2025 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center at the age of 61.
Beloved husband of Barbara, cherished dad Cameron (Danielle), Cassidy (Damian), Kelsei, Brandon (Lucinda), the apple of his eye granddaughter Amelia, parents-in-law Hayward & Pearl Adams, (siblings Clyde (Hazel), Fred (Marg), Henry (Marlene), Kevin (Ann), Mary, Shirley, Ruth (Bill), Colleen (Jr.), brother-in-law Howard, sister-in-law Ada, He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends as a hard-working man who loved to fish and watch the boats.
Predeceased by his parents Percy & Margaret Savoury, brothers Arthur & wife Jessie, Wallace & wife Kathleen, Bruce, sisters Sadie (Bruce) Osmond, Marilyn Thornhill, Georgie Green, brothers-in-law Morgan Keeping & Eugene Wiseman.
He was a dedicated worker on Lake boats for many years, a career that brought him great pride and a deep connection to the lake's waters. Beyond his work, Wayne enjoyed spending his free time fishing, often with family and friends, creating lasting memories on the waves. He was a kind, generous man with a contagious laugh, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He worked hard and was well respected by his fishing buddies. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and loved to fish. He loved to tell stories, especially about his days on the lake boats or about his beloved granddaughter who called him Poppy.
In honor of Wayne’s wishes cremation will take place following the service.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday June 11, 2025 & Thursday June 12, 2025 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin.
A celebration of life will be held for Wayne on Friday June 13, 2025 at 11AM from Serenity Chapel, Burin.
