Obituary of Irene Brewer
With deep sorrow and heartfelt, we announce the passing of Irene Brewer, aged 77, who left us peacefully on June 5, 2025, in Moncton, New Brunswick. Born on September 1, 1947, in Foote's Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador, she carried with her the warmth and resilience of her roots throughout her life. Irene was a light in all the lives of all who knew her.
Irene was a devoted mom, cherished nan, loving sister, and friend. Her love for her family was unwavering and deeply felt by those closest to her. She leaves behind her daughters Leanne Hall of Irishtown, NB, and Tracey Sherwood (Marty Sherwood) of Indian Mountain, NB who were the pride of her heart. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Samantha Hall and Gordon Legacy (Mikayla Legacy) brought immense joy to her life; 17 siblings and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon Brewer in 2017. Their bond remained a cherished part of Irene’s life and memory.
Irene was a shining light whenever she walked in to a room. Her positive energy always filled your heart when in her presence. She was one of the most determined, loving, independent, caring people you would have the fortunate of having met. One of Irene’s greatest joys was spending time at her cabin in Main Brook. It was there that she found peace and happiness surrounded by nature and the company of friends and family. The cabin served as a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and lasting memories—a true reflection of the love she shared so freely.
Irene’s kindness and generous spirit touched many lives. Her presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
We cannot express how grateful we are to the staff at Hospice Albert House in Moncton who helped make the transition for Irene and her girls so very special. We would not have been able to care for mom and provide her with the amount of love, attention, and support she needed without all of you.
In keeping with Irene’s wishes cremation has take place.
A celebration of life for Irene will be announced at a later date for family and friends.
