John, it is with deep sadness that I learned of your passing. You were always a great friend and always had an air of optimism! You always had a smile and were selfless in your regard for others! I will always cherish our childhood friendship... you were always so much more grown up with the things that you knew and did! I will never forget the bonding that we had about the funny stories we came up with as kids, talking about the "old skeleton!"
Gloria, I cannot fathom the loss that you and your family must feel at this time. John was a gentle and unique individual with so much to give and and a lover of life! I have prayed for all of you, since the time I learned of his condition! I will continue to pray for you all. I can say this with all confidence... that he is in heaven waiting for you when it is time! His spirit lives in you, and all who knew him, and despite his physical death, a spirit like his, never dies! May the spirit of the Lord be upon you and all of those that knew him. May he give you all the comfort that you need to weather his passing. May we meet again, my first real childhood friend!

Where do I even begin! Gloria, Jonathan, Kelsey, Jack, Eileen and families. Our deepest condolences to you all. We are so very deeply saddened to hear of John’s passing, our hearts are shattered. He loved you all so much!
You fought a great fight. We were Happy to tell you one last time that we loved you and to hear you say it back meant the world to all of us.
We will always remember that special smile, the caring heart, that warm embrace you always gave to all you loved.
In all of the years I’ve known you from all the New Year’s parties on the hill from firing the shotguns to doing our wedding video and firing the shotgun once again on our drive to the reception.
To all of our visits home to ask, are they there yet? We are going to pop up now.
To all the times curtis would come home for the summers you were there to spend time.
To the times when Mack was little and just wanted to hang out or wanted your pencil from behind your ear and as he got a little older and was able to talk moore to say Mr. John, you are a pretty awesome guy.
To lending your waiters to go fishing or anything else you could help with.
To the special memory of Rory holding your grandson as a baby, whom you were so very proud of, that first excitement of being a grandpa.
To hearing that Rory wanted a pocket knife and taking yours from your pocket to give to her you would be very happy to know she still uses it and will treasure it forever.
To all the times you made me stuffed squid you always knew it was my favourite and was happy to make me some or give me some clams to take home and so much more. To me and Mercedes crashing your Christmas shed party.
To the time spent over the years to help my in-laws, your other mother and father, to many cups of tea together to all of your help there’s so many memories to even mention the memories will always be cherished.
The friendship that you, brother Shawn, brother Cal, brother Hank, which started at such a young age I’m sure I can write a book. to the times spent fishing hunting, a simple boat ride or a drive to Tim Hortons or making mussels together, to teasing Shawn with all of your yummy food pictures.
As Shawn and Cal would say there’s no better than Johnny T.
To say you were, the best is an understatement. There was no better off a man, a kind, gentle soul who always had a kind word for others, and your smile could light up the room. You will be greatly missed by those of us who were blessed to have known you.
Our hearts are with you all during this very difficult time!
You fought a great fight and we admire your strength and bravery.
May you fly with the angels and rest in peace John and until we meet again!
Sending all of your love Shawn, Rosella Curtis, Mack and Rory.
