Obituary of Randell Brushett

Our Dad, Poppy, and Mom’s best friend; Randell Brushett (Ren), peacefully gained his angel wings with his family by his bedside on Thusday, April 17, 2025 at the age of 78.

Randell leaves behind his loving family who will miss him dearly his loving wife Mary of 58 years; children Michelle (Richard Ritchie), Millie (Bart Myatt), Rene (Tracey) and Steven; Grandchildren Krystelle, Kristian, Matthew, Tiffany, Kandis, Tessa, Reece and Isabella; great grandchildren Joshua, Desiree, Kinsley, Morgan and Deaglen; siblings George, Eileen (Jack Thornhill), Frankie (Steve O’Brien), Pad (Debbie), Carl (Rosalind), John, Josh (Elaine) and Maggie (John O’Mara). Randell served as a father figure and brother to many, and has left a giant hole in our family and extended family as well as a large circle of other family and friends.

Predeceased by siblings Bill Tom, Junior, Angus, Patricia Moore and Eli.

Randell had no problem telling you how you should've done it, or how you could've done it better. He told it like it was, even though you may not have wanted to hear it. But he always, always had your back and a quiet strength that let you know that even though things may not be alright, they eventually would be. He would often say you have to “Dip your oars deep”. 

Randell was a stubborn and strong-willed man (a charming trait inherited by his children & grandchildren) and he had the driest sense of humor and loved classic cars. He was a lover of good newfie music (none of that rap stuff), a fixer of anything from plumbing to vehicles to woodworking to toys with a bit of a hoarding tendency because he might need that later. (We are so not excited to start to go through his garage and storage). But most of all, He loved his family and extended family. Family was everything thing to Randell whose legacy will live on through them, his loved ones, from his unwavering selflessness and his unmatched resilience.

In keeping with Randell’s wishes cremation will take place.

A Celebration of Randell’s life will take place from Serenity Funeral Home, Burin for family only on Sunday April 20, 2025  4-8PM and Monday April 21, 2025 family will be receiving friends from 2-9PM.

Funeral Service will take place from Serenity Chapel Burin on Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 2PM with inurnment following at Burin Heritage Cemetery.
