
Obituary of Lila Beazley
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing Lila Beazley, a talented pianist, organist and educator. Lila passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday January 21, 2025 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre at the age of 92 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Reuben and Clyde both of Big Salmonier; grandson William; great grandchildren Ryder & Haley; her church family plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by parents George and Alice Clarke, husband William; brothers Rueben, Percy, Eli, Clarence, Russell; sisters Marie, Lillian, Ester.
Lila began teaching at the young age of 16 years in Little Bay East, NL. Lila was an educator for 35 years. She met and married the love of her life William when he had a stroke at the age of 62 years, Lila took care of him till he passed away at the age of 70.. She was dedicated and faithful to her church, she was a true Christian in every sense of the word. She was above all else, a friend. If someone needed help, she was there. She was the person who would greet a stranger at a gathering and make them feel welcome. She loved the church. To her the church was the most beautiful thing in the world. She served as a organist, choir member for over 70 years.
Lila instilled in her sons and grandchildren a deep appreciation of music, humor and kindness.
She leaves behind a legacy of music, education, humor, and love and she was cherished by her family, former students, and her church family. Another of her passions was music she loved all kinds of music. Lila was a fun loving person, she was very witty, she like everyone else was not perfect. She was very stubborn. You could not win an argument with Lila. She was very determined and loved you like no other. Lila had a full and beautiful life, we wanted it to be longer but we are grateful for the time we had with her.
Family will be receiving family and friends from Serenity Funeral Home Burin on Thursday & Friday from 2-5PM & 7-9PM.
A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2PM from Hope United Church, Lewin’s Cove with interment following at Hope United Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the family.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin.
