To those of us in Winnipeg, she was “Pauline’s mom.” She was a tiny woman with a huge heart, so incredibly kind and generous. I feel fortunate to have shared time with her. She was one of those people who always made you feel special. I will fondly remember Jiggs Dinner, freshly baked treats, and watching her play soccer with Nathan and Quinn when they were younger. Deepest condolences to the family of Marie. She was a beautiful lady who was loved by all she encountered at the St. Lawrence Health Care Centre. Her warmth and warm smile was also welcomed by my Dad who was a patient there for a short time before his passing. Dad would also say she is such a smart old girl with that lovely smile. As a family you should be proud that you did all you could to make her life happy, filled her days with love and were there for her.

Sorry I can't be with you all for the celebration of Marie's life. She was the sister I never had and that was how she would introduce me to her friends and nurses at the home. She would say " this is my cousin Joan but we grew up like sisters as we lived on the same meadow", She was also a daughter to Mom for the 30 or so years I was living away. Even after I came home she would still come and bath mom's feet and cut her toenails. She was the most loving caring person I knew, she was a friend to everyone, and she lived for her family and grandchildren they were her world.
