Alice May Anstey, formerly Slaney and née Bolt, 84, most recently of Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador, passed peacefully away on November 29, 2023, at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank.
Alice was born on July 24, 1939, to Mark and Alma Bolt in Wansworth, Newfoundland, she grew up in an independent Newfoundland before joining Canada. She was passionate about her family, friends, and her community. Whether it was visiting friends in the harbour, playing cards, or community dances, she was there! At home, she loved knitting, quilting, reading, and chatting with friends on the phone.
In 1957, she married Eugene Augustin Slaney, a fluorspar miner, who sadly was one of the many victims of the St. Lawrence mine and passed in 1986. Together, they raised their six children in St. Lawrence, Newfoundland. In 1988, she remarried Lloyd Gideon Anstey, who also passed in 2010.

There will be a visitation with family on Sunday and Monday, December 3 and 4, 2023, at 10am-12pm. 2pm-5pm and 6pm-8pm each day, located at Serenity Funeral Home, 95 Main Street, Burin Bay Arm, A0E 1G0.
Funeral service will take place at Serenity on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 10am, with cremation to follow.
