It is with broken hearts the family of Gordon Russell Riggs formerly of Bay L'Argent, residing in Marystown announce his peaceful passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on April 11th, 2023 at the age of 84 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 57 years Elsie, his children Rosalie(Eric), Goldie (William), Jennifer (Darren) & Johnny (Loretta).
His Precious Grandchildren Courtney (Brandon), Cameron (Deidre), Brooklyn, Kirklain, Travis (Kelsey) andKelsey(Dillion); 2 very special Great Grandchilden Asher & Natalie; Special Nephew Billy; Niece Gilda; Aunt Ida &long time family friends Viola & Joe.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents John & Elsie Riggs of Harbour Mille, brother Gilbert & his sister in law Phyllis.
Gordon's Family would like to say special Thanks to Dr. Acharya from the Bay L'Argent Medical Clinic for all his years of dedication to their Dad and also to his 2 homecare workers Gaye Anne King & Rhonda Emberley.
Gordon was a special man who loved his family and friends dearly. He spent many years Lobster fishing in the outport commuities near Harbour Mille.
Family will be accepting visitors at Serenity Funeral Home in Burin on Wednesday , April 12th from 6-8pm, & Thursday April 15th from 10am-6pm.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 14 at 11 am at Serenity Chapel, Burin with Rev. James Spencer officating service. A lunch to follow after service
In keeping with Gordons wishes cremation will follow.
Donations in his memory may be made to the family.
