We were shocked to hear Eugene had passed away. Our condolences to all the families. As I reading the obituary the song "Inch by inch- -row by row by Makem and Clancy was playing and I thought how appropriate. His garden was beautiful and each time we were in Petite Forte we admired the beautiful garden. Stay safe and take care.

Geraldine, Pauline, Randy and all Eugene's Family, it is with our sincere condolences that we extend out heartfelt grief to you all on the passing of such a great man. We were honored to have met Eugene and Family on our first visit to Petite Forte in the spring of 83 I'm guessing. Randy was a new born, and was baptised while we were there. Eugene was very kind to all of us. Took us out on a trouting excursion and kept us fed with lobsters. We hold many fond memories of that first visit, and you've all held a very special place in all our hearts. Hold special memories of your loved one, these memories will ease your sorrow and bring a smile to your face on your difficult days ahead. Sending our deepest condolences on your loss. Eugene always had a smile, story and a laugh whenever you met him. He never passed you in Marystown without stopping and having a chat. I remember one time when Zellers was still around, he stopped us and asked if we had seen Geraldine. Kerry and I had been talking to her in the other end of the store and told him where she was. He said I can never find that woman of mine when she gets among the clothes cause she’s the same height as the clothes racks. lol. Eugene had a great sense of humor. I know your hearts are breaking. I have many memories of Eugene from a very young age, we grew up together in the cove and he looked after me when I started School, making sure I was safe at school and until I got home.
