Bill, Kim, Colin, Heidi, Kurtis, William , Kent and extended family, Sincere condolences to you all.
Clara and I met while teaching together in 1967.Bill and Randell were childhood friends. Through the years we have had weekend suppers together and played cards, we holidayed together in Florida with our children, we skidooed and had boil ups, we cut firewood on weekends. We took trips to Comfort Cove.
Clara and I made quilts together, Carebears and RaggedyAnns for our children, Christmas decorations……hers were works of art, mine not so much. One summer we took our children to PEI (without our husbands, which was an extraordinary thing to do back then).
But Clara always said said her very favourite memories were her trips on our sailboat. We brought our children, I brought lots of Gravol and we both brought lots of knitting. Our South Coast is absolutely beautiful and we explored it for years.
In the 80’s we were back to university and finished our teaching degrees. That’s when Clara’s health issues began. On convocation day, I was so scared she would fall walking to get her diploma.
As friends and family, we all know, how she dealt with her surgeries and pain with such determination and such a positive attitude for the last 30+ years.
Clara was unique and very gifted. Your days of pain are over, Clara. I was so lucky to have you in my life.
Rest easy, my friend. Joan and Randell Pope
