Obituary of Leland Mayo

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leland Mayo of Salt Pond announces his passing at Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories children Leland Jr. (Barb) of Ottawa, Donald (Sandy) of Ottawa, Eleanor Mayo (Herb) of CBS, Albert of Marystown and Joanne Mayo (Jerry) of Marystown; 12 grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren; sisters Alice Young (Gordon) of Creston North and Pauline Dodge (Cyril) of St. John's; brothers Eugene of Burin and Gerald (Lucille) of St. John's; special friend Philomena Durnford of Creston South and special neighbour Keith Kelloway plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Rueben and Isabella Mayo; wife Melita Mayo; son David Mayo. The family will be receiving visitors at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin Friday, April 14th from 10am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 2- 9pm. Funeral service to take place from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ship Cove, Monday, April 17th at 2pm with interment following at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Hodder's Point. Donations in his memory may be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church or flowers gratefully accepted. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin "Because We Care."
